reflection for doom enemies

Postby skadoomer » 17 Sep 2002 05:06

this is a question to anyone who really knows the structure of vavoom C:<br><br>i've spent a week trying to convert the centaur reflection from hexen into doom enemies and i havn't had any luck whatsoever.   So far i've been able to sucessfully add the invonerability factor in but as far as getting the missle to reflect, well, i havn't had any sucess.   I think becasue hexen defines its entities as "other" and doom uses "thing",  but changing or removing them hasn't landed me with any more sucess.  If anyone at all can help me out i'd really apprichate it. <br><br>-skad

AFAIR the function that handles reflections is hitThing, it's defined in physics.vc.

i've already borrowed that section and added it to doom phisics and modified bits of the code (and added in other varibles like floorbouncing just to remain constent with the heretic code.) however, it refuses to function.  Maybe i'd have to make sure the doom code recognises the hitmobj section.

Did you add the reflective flag for objects you want to make reflective?

i fixed the problem.  Turns out i didn't call the actions of hitmobj in xymovement where they can actually be applied.
