If it's possible, could you please upload the IWAD you are using? if it's a shareware IWAD it might have something weird, I don't get why it's crashing, since it works fine here.

The freedoom.wad file you included isn't for Doom1 it's for Doom2, to run it, you need to use '-doom2' parameter in the command line, as for doom1.wad, the correct parameter for using shareware doom is '-doom'.
