Doom2 Total Remake on Vavoom

I'm creating a remake of doom2, using all the vavoom features.
Target: renew the Doom2, with new graphics and Vavoom 3d features.

OK, if everybody say 'Yes!', then tell me please, how i to put here some screens?
May be it's stupid, but i cant find.
By the way, let me tell some words about it. It will contain some textures from Quake 1
and lots of High-Res textures from Risen3D. First i thought, that mixing will be not very
good, but now the fiest map is ready, and the part (over 20%) of second too, and i see,
that it looks normally.
The lighting in the 'open' sectors (where ceiling = sky) is various from 80 to 256,
but in the corridor sectors (ceiling = ceiling :D ) is 80. May be you will ask - "why
is it so dark?". But it isnt too dark - i place a lot of static light resources on the maps,
so it is light and a little unusual. Here i use the Vavoom proection static light system
on 100%. Ok, you will see it on the screens.
Now about models. If you don't know - i make new models for Vavoom. For example
plasmagun - item now has over 1000 vertexes! I will place screens here, if you will
tell me how. I'm to send to Janis Legzdins first part of model pack near 30th june.
It will contain the modells of item weapons, models of handed weapons (visible only
on multiplayer by other players in the hands of player) - practically new type of models.
And ofcourse a model of Doomguy. I plan to make all that to the date of ReDoom2

Sounds good :), to place screenshots you need to upload them somewhere on the Net, and then use the Img tag on your post, placing the web adress of the place where you uploaded your screens.

A good place to upload images for free is PhotoBucket, but don't ask me how to do it, because I've never used it before, heh! :lol:

I hope that this project has a good end and that we can see a lot more of it, thanks for posting!

I'm planing to end this project in august - begining of september.
But after ReDoom2 it will be ReHeretic or ReDoom or may be ReQuake, using Vavoom!
As for models - i willo remake all the doom models, all heretic and hexen.

By the way, Janis Legzdins, Why Vavoom 120 makes only shot0000.pcx and
then rewrites it ? It's very unusefull !!!. And it does not plays midi any more!
All it was in version 117, but i cant see it in new versions. :(
I have Windows 98 SE - may be this is a problem? But i cant change the OS, so please
fix those bugs.

The problem you have with the music could be related to the midi device you are actually using, Vavoom now uses the default device assigned by the OS instead of the DirectMusic one.

How i to redefine my midi device?

Janis Legzdins, i tried to rewrite a little particles in Vavoom. But have i to recompile all
the source again to test it ? Can you make a standalone particle-editor for Vavoom? It
will be much more usefull if Vavoom could load stand - alone particles. Please think
about that. I say it because cool models will be soon in Vavoom, but they will not be
cool-looking with those old particles.

Yes, think about that faster please :wink: No, realy create a particle editor for Vavoom.
Make it without in-built visualiser of particle, if it is hard. For example make it to
generate a particle by setting the number of parts, their radius, start direction and gravity
