Vavoom project finally completed!

Postby gunrock » 04 Mar 2009 00:19

I just uploaded my project up "Gothic Dreams Final". It is a 5 map death match compilation that incorporates Vavooms features skillfully. The features include:
Slopes
3D floors
Multilayer Textures
Static lighting
Translucent liquids
TGA Sky boxes
and more!

Please reply with any bug reports, feature suggestions, or anything I can do to improve some things!

Downloading right now.
But i recommend you to upload your map to DoomWorld, so many people can download it. Or at least, know about its existance.

[EDIT]

Ok, i tested it. Looks good.
But... I don't play multiplayer :(

You can make a survival type game with those maps, or something similar, so the players who don't play multiplayer, get fun with those nice maps.

The only thing i would change, is the BFG sounds. I didnt like it much.

Gunrock, I found a bad bug; on map 01 most weapons and items are not present during deathmatch, only in SP mode.

EDIT: In general, maps are great and really beatiful.
And I second Karnizero's proposal to make a SP mod based on these maps, or same map style. :)

Yeah I noticed when playing in death match mode map01 doesn't display curtain items. I checked my maps, ran various error checking programs, ran node builders, ran cleanwads, and still couldn't find a reason why this is. My guess is its a Vavoom engine bug?

Maybe I (or someone) could make some modifications to incorporate a survival type game. I'm too now busy finishing up my new single player mod called 'Fallen' :D

Um, gunrock, I opened your map in Doombuilder and saw that there is simply Deathmatch flag is not checked for those items

No, not me, I am too busy with different project. Although it would be pleasure to hack your maps :D
